Conventional aquarium pumps generate excessively high flow rates in the core area of the water jet, but on the outside of the core area the current is too low.
This difference leads to stress for the aquarium inhabitants, such as coral polyps. TUNZE research sets new standards in current patterns with the aim of reproducing every zone of a coral reef in the aquarium.
Our new Turbelle stream pumps produce gentle current speeds at high flow rates of up to 12,000 liters (3,170 US gal.) per hour.

I am not sure a review is needed, the name and rep is right on. While you will need to invest a few extra bucks, this is well worth it. Built to last, and the water movement is second to none. With the controllers you are able to adjust the flow rate as well as which unit is on and off. Not for your small softie tank. I use 3 on a 240 and with a bit of experimentation I am able to eliminate all dead spots in the system, and have the flow my sps want.
If you have a big tank and sps these are the water moving devices for you.
The raging debate seems to be between the investment of a close loop system with an device like an ocean motion or the use of controlable units like these. I have tried both, and the problem with a CL set up is flexiblity. Once plumbed you are locked in, unless you want to re-plumb. Withe these devices you can adjust them very easily. Also the CL set up is on or off, with controllable units you can adjust the flow rate, making these the better investment IMO
