The Maxi-Jet®PH incorporates a venturi aeration device to provide optimal aeration and gas exchange in the aquarium. A silencer keeps the venturi aeration device operating quietly.
An adjustable air filter permits the user to fine-tune air volume and water mixing as desired. The intake tube adapter with prefilter screen prevents gravel or loose material in the aquarium from getting into the pump. Maxi-Jet®PH pump and power head includes an innovative triple-suction cup mount, an adjustable hook with cable guide, and a grid support for optional foam cartridge, and comes in a complete range of sizes.
Users have found that the Maxi-Jets by Aquarium Systems are not only excellent units for any aquarium job, but they are one of the few powerhead pumps that can withstand the constant on/off strain of being used with wave making devices.

I have a whole bunch of Maxi-Jet power heads for various aspects of my aquarium. I have 2 in my display tank, one for my quarantine tank, one for my refugium, and one that I use for water changes. They are reliable and the 1200 in particular moves a good amount of water. They don't provide much lift head, but that's not what I would expect from this kind of pump. The only reason I gave these 4 instead of 5 starts is that the outflow pattern is very, very narrow. I tried cutting the end off of one of my maxi-jet 1200s, but it only helped marginally. If you are looking (or don't mind) a narrow flow patter, these will suit you just fine.
